SaunaMap ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at saunamap.com (the "Site") and the SaunaMap mobile app for iOS and Android (the "App"). Together we call these the "Platform." This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from hosts, guests, and visitors, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using SaunaMap, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us when you create an account, list a sauna, book a sauna, or contact us:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number (optional)
• Physical address and map coordinates of a sauna you list
• Profile photo
• Photos and videos you upload (listing photos, listing videos, arrival videos, and attachments sent in messages)
• Listing text, house rules, access instructions, and booking settings
• Messages you send to hosts or guests through the Platform
• Reviews you write
• Reports or complaints you file about a booking, and questions you send to our help assistant
• Booking history (which sauna, date, time, party size, and amount paid)
• Your agreement to our Terms, Privacy Policy, and liability waivers, and the time you agreed

Information collected automatically:

• An account ID for your SaunaMap account
• A push notification token for your device, if you allow notifications in the App
• Basic technical information such as device or browser type, IP address, and app performance data, including information collected by our map provider (see Section 7)

What we do not collect:

• We do not collect your device's location. You search the map by moving it or typing a city.
• We do not see or store your card or bank details. Payments and host payouts are handled by Stripe.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not show third-party ads.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Run the Platform: show the map and listing pages, take bookings, and process payments and payouts
• Let hosts and guests message each other about a booking
• Send booking emails and push notifications (for example, new messages, booking requests, and confirmations)
• Respond to support requests, reports, and help assistant questions
• Keep the Platform safe and prevent fraud
• Improve the Platform
• Send marketing emails if you are subscribed (see Section 4)

Photographs, descriptions, and other sauna information that hosts submit may be used by SaunaMap to market SaunaMap and the listing, under the content license in our Terms and Conditions.

3. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Other users: Listing pages show a host's first name or host name, profile photo, listing photos and videos, and the sauna's general area. Home sauna locations are shown on the map as an approximate area, not the exact address. Your first name and profile photo appear next to reviews you write. Once a guest books, we share what's needed to complete that booking (such as name, contact details, and the sauna's address and access instructions) between that host and that guest only.

Service providers: We share information with companies that help us run the Platform, only as needed for that work:

• Supabase (database, file storage, and sign-in)
• Stripe (payments and host payouts)
• Webflow (hosting the Site and listing pages)
• Mapbox (maps)
• Resend (email delivery)
• Expo and Apple / Google (push notifications)
• Google and Apple (if you choose to sign in with them)
• Anthropic (answers questions you type into our help assistant; please don't include personal details in those questions)

Legal reasons: We may share information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users or SaunaMap.

4. Marketing Emails

Our mailing lists each have their own subscription. You can unsubscribe from any one list, or from all SaunaMap marketing email at once, using the link in any marketing email or our email preferences page (saunamap.com/email-preferences). Unsubscribing from all marketing email is permanent: we will not add you to new lists later. You will still receive emails about your bookings and account.

5. Data Retention and Deleting Your Account

We keep your information while your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform. You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard on the Site or in the App. When you do, we remove your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, except where we must keep certain records (such as payment and booking records) for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons. Content already used in marketing under the license in our Terms may remain in materials published before deletion.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. The App stores similar information on your device. We do not use them to track you across other companies' apps or websites. You can control cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

7. Third-Party Services

Our service providers have their own privacy policies. Our map provider, Mapbox, may collect technical information about how the map loads and performs on your device. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the services listed in Section 3.

8. Children's Privacy

SaunaMap is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, email admin@saunamap.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.
